On July 26th 1955, Lancia´s D50 Grand-Prix cars were handed over to the Scuderia Ferrari who brought them together with their own cars to the Italian Grand-Prix. But after experiencing severe tyre problems in practice with the Belgian Englebert racing tyres on Monza´s new banking, all D50s where withdrawn from the race to avoid a serious accident.
