After the race had been led by a Chevrolet Camaro, an Opel Commodore and even rotary powered Mazdas, all of which ran into technical trouble, the Alpina Coupe from Günther Huber and Helmut Kelleners took over and won the Spa 24 hour in 1970 by a good margin ahead of three Alfa Romeo GTAms.
