The 1965 Le Mans 24 hours should have been the Ferrari P2´s race, but all of the works cars retired and left the winning to the Jochen Rindt / Masten Gregory Ferrari 250LM. The Jean Guichet / Mike Parkes P2 retired in the twenty-third hour with a broken gearbox.
