A private owner called John Simone ordered one last sports car from Maserati to be raced at Le Mans 1965. For him the factory built this open Tipo 65 out of an Tipo 63, still using the beautiful birdcage design, but this time with a 5-litre V8 in the back. It never ran very well and Jo Siffert chrashed it on only its second lap in the race. Motorsport Classic Poster.
