In the Nürburgring 1000Km race of 1964, the Ferrari 275 P was in the class of its own. John Surtrees and Lorenzo Bandini put their 320 bhp V12 on pole and led the event until a half shaft broke. Then the sister car driven by Ludovico Scarfiotti and Nini Vaccarella went on to win.
